Create Digital Music has a post on Ubuntu Studio. Apparently it is an all-in-one package of audio/video/imaging tools for Ubuntu. Right now it sounds like it is a standalone distribution. This is interesting to me because I actually use Ubuntu as my main OS. I will be giving this a test drive April for sure when it is due out.
Check out the Gibson YouTube Channel. Basically just a bunch of YouTube videos that have people playing or talking about Gibson guitars.
There is a Slash video lesson in this Shred Masterclass column at Ultimate-Guitar.com that I liked.
Van Halen will reunite to do a North American tour in 2007. The reunion will include David Lee Roth, Eddie & Alex Van Halen, and Eddie’s 15 year old son will be on Bass.

Ubuntu Studio sounds very interesting! I’m an IT guy and a guitar enthusiast so a music oriented distribution sounds like something I’ll have to play with…

I think I would be more excited about it if it was just a bunch of packages that you could install on your existing Ubuntu, but I’m going to give it a shot anyway. I think it is coming out in April because it is based on 7.04.
PS, What is with IT guys having guitar blogs? You, me, and Cary from electric-guitar-review are all techies.

I haven’t looked at all the details around Ubuntu Studio but I imagine that most of those are already available. I suppose they’re looking to provide an integrated solution targeting more the musician than the techie.
Interesting observation about us techies.
I suppose its a good thing - a bit of that right brain/left brain thing going on.
